CWBC - System Administration

The System Administration module provides a set of administrative tools that control high-level aspects of the Citywide Budgeting application.  

 

This module is accessible only to those Users who have been assigned to a Role which has the System Administration module enable.

 

The following tools are available in the System Administration module:

 

Settings

Allow System Administrators to set application-level settings such as your Organization Name and Starting Capital Project Number.

  • Configuration
  • API Documentation
  • ERP Import Settings

 

Permissions

Create User\Role relationships to define the access of your end users. Manage your budget version control by enabling Dataset Locks.

 

Logs

Track actions that are completed in Citywide Budgeting for any changes to data, login attempts, and data importing history.

  • Audit Logs
  • Login Logs
  • ERP Import Logs

 

Notifications

If your Citywide Budgeting application has an Integration configured this section controls who will be notified when the operation runs.

  • ERP Import Notification

 

API Documentation
The API Documentation area provides technical details required to configure and maintain integration between the Citywide Budgeting system and external applications (e.g., ERP.)

 

This area is intended for IT administrators, technical consultants, and/or integration partners responsible for creating the API connections used in integration.   

 

The documentation includes:

  • A list of available endpoints, including their purpose (e.g., import actuals, export budgets, retrieve account structures).
  • Authentication Details - instructions for generating and managing API tokens
  • Required Fields & Data Formats
  • Field-level specifications for each endpoint
  • Error Codes & Troubleshooting

 

Before you begin, ensure the following prerequisites are met:

  • API access has been enabled for your organization
  • A secure API token has been generated
  • Your Chart of Accounts segments and required field specifications (e.g., Fund, Cost Centre, Object, Activity) are configured and aligned with your external application
  • You have access to a test environment for validation prior to production deployment.
